You have two imperfect people running for president and when the media demonize one, it becomes hard to figure it out. As you age, your world can become smaller especially once you quit working and your exposure is less to lots of different people and opinions.

The truth will come out someday. This is also a spiritual war and do not fall into the trap and end your relationship over this. This will pass. Apologize.
