The tv show Veep was imo predictable programming. Old dude president steps down due to health issues and his female veep becomes the unelected president. The only hole in the story is the fact that Kamala is worthless to them so they won’t put in the veep and are forced to find a different route. Newsome, o bummer or killtails are their last resorts and obvious picks. RFK may be their Trojan horse but it would expose themselves too so unlikely to succeed.
