Going shopping used to be a pleasant experience until the face mask came into play. I'm retired and live in the country. I go to town about twice a month. The store employees and other customers used to smile. Than came the mask and 6 foot distancing crap. Now that that's all over with, things just never went back to where it was. Is it just me or does it seem like people have lost their people skills? Customer service sucks and the other shoppers have this tunnel vision. Has anybody else noticed this?

No, it's not the masks, it's the desperation because of our economy.
Pre-pandemic working even retail job could afford you to have a relatively decent life. Now that everything went up 60-70%, they live right on the poverty line. Hence they look depressed and dejected.
It is hard to provide good service when you are being paid feck all for it.
That and the fact that the zoomers have started entering the workforce.
