My husband retired from John Deere and I worked at the branch in Syracuse for 15 years. You are all falling for this “corporate greed” that the corrupt government uses to try to distract from their horrible policies. John Deere is a great company! They have always had factories and production in other countries. Mostly in Europe but also in Mexico. Mainly because it’s more profitable to produce machines where they sell them. Deere has always been way ahead of the game in most areas. I remember in the 70’s they pulled out of Iran just before the revolution and hostage crisis. They are a company that treats their employees and retirees great. They care very much about the American farmer as that is their bread and butter.
If you read the article, farmers are hurting big time….look what our government is doing to the potato crop in Idaho. Deere has down graded their profit projections twice already this year. The moves they make with lay offs and moving production facilities is to keep the company profitable- many, many people rely on Deere for jobs, for pensions, for health care insurance and stocks in their 401K. A biggie coming up will be the EV regulations for farm equip and lawn and garden equip. Farmers will be hurting more. I’m just saying, when the media trashes these corporations, don’t be so quick to jump on their bandwagon….there is a lot you don’t know.
