You’re telling me you think it’s OK that someone in a position of power uses their influence over a 17 year old who can’t tell the difference?
Just because women and men can procreate in their teens doesn’t mean someone much older can prey on their young, impressionable minds. Two teens having kids is way different than a fully formed adult using their position to reach teenagers.
I'm saying it isn't always preying. Some people are genuinely caring for one another. I was very mature for my age. And sought older men. Just a couple years older but they'd still be in trouble today. I was 15 when I started dating my 18 year old high school boyfriend. We didn't marry but we were together 4 years. I never felt he preyed on me.
Everyone is different. My bff's husband was much older and their relationship lasted longer than mine.
I think a lot of my opinion also has to do with the fact there are children from this relationship, too. These people are someone's mother and father. And if he is a good father, calling him a pedophile in the same sense as someone like Joe Biden (I don't think this guy is taking showers with his daughter), it feels like it diminishes the actual harm caused by a man who abuses someone very young.

Yeah but that’s an understandable age gap. A high school coach is certainly in his 30’s at best
a 2 year differential in your teens is normally not a problem, even legally. 3 is usually reasonable too. that's not what we're talking about.
