Well, confiscating Russian assets, even if it is Just the interest, is akshully stealing. That money belongs to Russians, not the EU. AND Banks are honor-bound to respect their customers money, not some bat in the union.
One could come up with reasons like: b...b...but Russia illegally invaded Ukraine, because they are antisemitic (they are not). OR Russia is mean, OR Russia is destroying all our stuff ... or something. But that money belongs to Russians, because they did business in Europe. (Mostly oligarchs BTW, but that's another story). So one does not hear much about the fact that that money is frozen, because I believe the Russians have already written it off to some extent. And Putin is laughing, because the oligarchs are all coming back to Russia, all butt-hurt at the Europeans, and changed their minds about the West. Cost of doing business with treacherous parties. Whatever - the money can be made again. It will all come out in the tribunals.
Once the EU decides to start confiscating people's money, however, no-one can trust them with money anymore. So why should anyone invest in Europe then? It is all rather obvious, TBH.
BTW, respect for that Saudi fellow.
eh ..... I was flabbergasted when I read: Banks are honor bound. There is no honor among thieves. And Banks are thieves big time, pig time.
EU, and especially, that fake blonde Von der Leyen ( even her name is grammatically idiotic), would love to get her hands on a couple of billions, for their digital prison program.
And now, dropping bonds. Well, we have been in a currency war, but it is beginning to show clearly.
The FED has concerns China will drops a few bonds. And now SA is threatening to do so. It seems we are seeing the bands of the possibilities to make moves.
I find it interesting that Putin is very much willing to talk to Trump but not to some one else like, hé, where is Blinky guy.
All lines of proof seem to indicate that not many moves are left to the DS. And I am sure, the China in the cupboard won't break.
