Not trying to discourage you here fren but this post does seem to conflict with your theory, although it could have been necessary disinformation at the time.
I've always thought, if he were alive, that question was asked early on, it wouldn't have been appropriate to release that information. So Q just says no, they really had no choice.
Expanding on your hypothesis I'd say if we received a definite "yes" it's possible it could have exposed the element of suprise that was being saved for the finally. My only reservation on that is the definitive answer, as I commented above it'd be more questionable if the Q team left the response ambiguous or skirted the question all together.
I can't disagree with you there, however we have to examine all the posts as a whole and this one in particular seems pretty clear. I'd give it a higher probability if the response was more ambiguous but will admit your guess at this one is as good as mine.

"Disinformation is real."
"Disinformation is necessary."
If the son of a universally beloved Democrat, if JFK jr and wife were proven to be alive, wouldn't that be an incredibly powerful, uniting revelation?
Wouldn't it be a good idea to play that hypothetical card at the most opportune time?

But Vincent is alive. Wink, wink.
Maybe his "name" is dead?
That's certainly a possible interpretation.
