The Deputy PM is Canada's equivalent of Vice President. The prime minister can appoint anyone to that job whenever he wants.

Her name is Chrystia Freeland. She is also the finance minister. She's a total dumbass regarding finances. She's so dumb that:

• She can't translate numbers into words. EG, she'd say something like "one thousand million, one ten hundred"
• She tried to frame a budget as fighting inflation. So she basically argued that spending money can defeat inflation.
• During the campaign for the Toronto byelection, she heavily implied that all Conservative voters are "small" and "cruel" for not wanting the Liberals' new welfare-state programs.
• During multiple Parliament debates about those programs, she always resorts to the same argument: her opponents are big meanies for opposing the programs.
