Project 2025 and Agenda 47 are both trying to do different things. They're not in competition and they don't really contradict each other in principle.
Project 2025 is primarily a database of vetted candidates that Trump could use to appoint new people once he redesignates federal bureaucrats into Schedule F employees, as he's promised to do. This would give President Trump the ability to fire 20,000 "deep state" bureaucrats that tried to obstruct his agenda the last time.
Project 2025 was created largely by former members of the Trump admin to give Trump supporters the education they'd need to fill these newly available roles. It also comes with a 900 page book full of suggestions for the next Trump administration. But they never claimed to represent Trump's official campaign agenda. It's basically like if you got together with your neighbors and came up with a list of things you'd like Trump to do as President. It's not actually meant to challenge him or represent his official policy.
Agenda 47 is Trump's official campaign agenda. It's the package of proposals officially endorsed by President Trump and his campaign.
The media is attacking Project 2025 hard and I suspect President Trump doesn't see the worth in defending it at this point when it brings so much negative attention. The media is overwhelmingly liberal and it opposes Project 2025 for the same reasons it opposed President Trump throughout his political career. I think disavowing it is more strategic than ideological. It allows Trump to portray himself as a "moderate" and win more independent voters.
The Trump campaign has also recently paid a lot of MAGA influencers to disavow Project 2025 and promote Agenda 47, portraying them (unfairly I think) as competition rather than two separate things that could theoretically work together. The two aren't separate, competing proposals though. Everyone involved with Project 2025 supports Trump and understands that he gets the final say. Project 2025 was created to help the next Trump administration, not counteract it. It's an unfortunate casualty of the biased media environment that Trump now has to court.
You also say this:
'The Trump campaign has also recently paid a lot of MAGA influencers to disavow Project 2025 and promote Agenda 47, portraying them (unfairly I think) as competition ...'
Where do you get this information?
Research the names of the people who wrote this
Most were members of the Trump administration and all have endorsed him this time around.
For the last point, the Trump campaign is now paying a company called Influenceable LLC that pays gen-z micro influencers to give talking points. It's not a very well known thing but I personally know people who have been approached by the company to talk down Project 2025. I believe Brad Parscale is in charge.
If, as you say, many of Trump's prior admin are in this group and were positive contributors, why haven't we heard of any of them?
Which ones of these have come out and publicly praised, supported or funded him?
According to a loyal key aid in his inner circle, many of Trump's 2017- 2020 admin were prior admin hires (Bush's and Obama's) and were privately disloyal and in fact, acted purposefully to refuse to enact his orders, blocked incoming important phone calls and did not tell him of guests who were waiting to speak to him, leaving the guests languishing for hours in the waiting room until they left without meeting Trump.
The fact that Trump knows nothing about this Agenda means they are not working with him, AT ALL. This is not good. They cannot enact plans for the country and for the presidency without the permission of THE PEOPLE and its PRESIDENT.
Among the contributors to the 900 page Project 2025 playbook are:
Rick Dearborn
Russell Vought
Ben Carson
Peter Navarro
America First legal, Hillsdale College, Liberty University, Patrick Henry College
As far as I know, RINOs and people in poor standing with the Trump campaign were barred from making contributions to the project. It's a series of proposals that the President is free to use or reject, along with a program to educate young people looking to get into politics. The mainstream liberal narrative is completely wrong about Project 2025.
To correct you, Ben Carson didnt write papers for Project 2025, they liked what he wrote, completely separate from p25, so they included his ideas. And others too. P25 lumps sound and reasonable ideas with fringe ideas. Almost as if to poison the well, so to speak. P25 sure smells like a dual citizens info op to me.
The Heritage Foundation is the publisher behind it and here is the link to the people:
https://www.heritage.org/about-heritage/staff/leadership
I don't recognize any of them.
Also: the publication lists these people and organizations as their advisory board of which I have no knowledge of, nor way to confirm, do you?
These are all very well known think tanks. Some are older and some were created more recently during the Trump administration (like the America First Legal Foundation)
Project 2025 includes essays by people like Ben Carson and Peter Navarro. People have just bought into the liberal hysteria that it's some sort of bogyman.
