A lot of people have relatives who didn't want to go into a nursing home. At some point we had to overrule them for their own safety and well-being.

I do not agree. We used to be a society that took care of our own elderly relatives. Since we moved away from that, our country has deteriorated from being the greatest nation to being where we find ourselves today.

I do not think age should have any bearing on free will and the liberty to choose how you live your life.

Not a good comparison. Nursing homes can be very dubious when understaffed. I have a stepmother being tended by the National Health Service ("Disservice"?) in UK, and she is maybe better than an animal in a zoo. My wife has been in the profession, and she contends that home care is better, if it can be afforded.
