Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Thanks moody, quite a bit there to look through, appreciate it!
I am out in the sun pretty much all day, and am essentially keto and will be full before too long.
I haven't been diagnosed with PN, but have come to the conclusion that's what it may be from searching. I'm not diabetic but was pre-diabetic a few years ago winding down almost a decade long drinking binge. I'm sure prior to winding down I must have been in the diabetic range and this is when it started. I don't get any pain, but a numbness and discomfort when laying down after a few minutes. I also get it in my feet as well and they get cold easy. Although my feet do seem to have improved slightly over the past couple years.
Thanks again!
You’re most welcome. My feet have been freezing in the winter the last few years. It’s probably circulation issue. I have numbness in just a few places. Weirdest thing for me is feels like water was dropped on my feet or legs. I have to double check they are dry🤦🏻♀️ Don’t get a nerve test to confirm diagnosis. My pain doctor did one on my right leg and it was never the same. Congrats on sobriety. I know it’s not easy. I’m always wanting something sweet. Replaced alcohol with sweets. My dad did the same thing after he stopped drinking. But the family on side are chocolate chocolate-alcoholics. Change is very hard but rewarding. Good luck to you fren.
Yeah, I'll be curious to see how my feet are this winter, while they still feel numbish they haven't felt as cold as they have in the past few years. I can't tell when they're wet lol
Nope, no way I'm going to get any tests or anything. Hasn't gotten worse, and while I'd prefer not to have it, I'm not getting on any medications. Haven't been to a Dr since the onset of covid, and no plans to unless it's some kind of emergency.
Thanks, it was a difficult road to where I'm at now, and while also mainly being keto I also do binge once in a while on sweets/chocolate/carbs. When I start doing it frequently I know it's time to switch up my diet lol
Also getting ready to kick caffeine and see if that helps me sleep better, may not be as much my thighs as I think. Probably easily consume 1000mg of caffeine a day.
Peace and blessings fren!
