Again, Trump turned his head just before the shot that grazed him. Had he not, he'd have been dead. I don't think this was a failure of the shooter, but a success of a higher power.
To call this staged seems extraordinarily far-fetched. Set up: certainly; inside job: probably. But we all knew it was only a matter of time before someone tried to (publicly) assassinate him, whether orchestrated by the deep state, or just tilted, mentally-ill, lone actors.
What convinces me that Trump was actually shot (as opposed to staging some sort of special effect) is his reaction. An actor knows the event is coming, and would have reacted to the shot instantly. Trump, instead, took a couple seconds to realize what had just happened before dropping to the ground. So either he's a better actor than anyone on the planet (which his appearance on Fresh Prince would contradict), or he was actually shot in the ear. And if he was actually shot in the ear, there's no way in hell he'd be in on a stunt that puts a bullet less than an inch from his brain. It would defy all logic.
I agree that he wouldn’t be in on it. Biden might go for that but not President Trump. So the shooter was skilled but President Trump turned toward the noise and was shot in the ear vs. the head. It’s definitely amazing he wasn’t hurt and I’d love to know who all the players are, why the police & Secret Service didn’t go after the shooter when the attendee pointed him out. They obviously had him in their scope because he was killed immediately. So many incidents from the past have turned out to have much different implications than we thought and I can’t help but consider different possibilities.
I don't if I would call him "skilled" based on the complete lack of recoil control, but he clearly wasn't some Fudd who just picked up a gun for the first time last week. I do think the entire attempt was allowed and aided by SS, to the point that the flag was positioned where it was specifically to aid the shooter.
We won't get any meaningful details out of the investigation, nor does it really matter. We already know who the players are, whether direct or indirect. Fortunately, for now, we just get to be extremely grateful that Trump is alive and relatively unhurt, and that we are able to avoid breaking out into civil war, so far. As much as emotions might send some, on either side, into believing they are ready for and want war -- war is a truly TERRIBLE thing -- with rarely a net positive outcome. Right now, everyone (especially those on the right) should focus their desires entirely on peace, not war; the Heavenly Dove rather than the earthly steed.
