Shithole’s gonna shithole.
Shortly after a gunman took a shot at former President Donald Trump during a rally Saturday evening, grazing Trump's ear and killing at least one person in the audience behind him, a congressman - an elected, sworn-in member of the United States House of Representatives - tweeted that concern for Trump amounted to "sympathy for the devil."R
Rep. Steven Woodrow, who represents Colorado's State House District 2, posted to X shortly after the shooting, "The last thing America needed was sympathy for the devil but here we are."
And yes, this is a real thing. here it is:
The last thing America needed was sympathy for the devil but here we are. — Rep. Steven Woodrow (@WoodrowForCO) July 13, 2024 And, in case this jackhole deletes it, here's a screenshot for good measure:
Woodrow
Woodrow was immediately ratio'ed into the stratosphere with people rightly condemning his disappointment - not at the fact that Trump was shot, but that it might earn him some support from people just now figuring out that leftists are violent extremists.

Gunfire appeared to break out shortly after Trump began speaking at the rally around 6 PM EST. Trump who was bloodied on his ear and face, Trump raised his fists in defiance as he was rushed from the scene. Reports indicate that one Trump supporter was killed, and two spectators were critically injured.
The gunman was shot and killed at the scene.
Trump's team reports that Donald Trump is fine, a fact that probably bums out Woodrow.
UPDATE: Reacting to the backlash against his hate speech, Woodrow has apparently deleted, not just the post, but his entire X.com account
Just started digging on this beast, not much background yet, but one nugget. From wiki (til they delete it) --

Woodrow is married and has two children.[11] He and his family are members of the Rodef Shalom Congregation. ..."

“The bill is sponsored by Rep. Steven Woodrow of Denver, who is himself a class action plaintiff’s attorney,” Madsen wrote in a Complete Colorado opinion piece. “It goes without saying that Rep Woodrow’s business will reap the benefits of passage, but the individual consumers in his district will see no benefit for themselves.”

Thank you. Email sent demanding his resignation and expressing disgust. Not that anything will happen.
I’m surprised he has an actual email address and not a fill in the form crap so many politicians have these days.
