I noticed that too. There seem to have been a few photos of him as an adult right in the beginning, but after they got their hands on those childhood photos, it has been just them.
That same thing happened with at least the Trayvon Martin case. As soon as the MSM got a hold of his childhood photo that was the one they kept showing, to the point that most people seemed to think that George Zimmerman had killed some child, not a nearly fully grown teen bigger than he was beating his head on the sidewalk (plus in that case the general impression rather is that if that Latino guy had had a Latino sounding name the whole debacle would never have blown up the way it did in the news, but seems that they at first got only the name, and "George Zimmerman" does sound pretty white... and by the time they got all the facts it was a bit too late for them to backtrack, hence the "white Latino" and other dodges).
So, what next? Stories of the shooter's difficult life, love of guns, dithering between the parties because he really liked the Republicans but had grown disappointed in them and especially Trump, how he would have maybe needed help he didn't get in time, and oh so sad how he got killed but he was always such a good boy, so gentle... and soon enough he will start to sound like a saint, or a sainted martyr, in the stories.
