VP is practically a useless position. They lead side projects, cast the deciding vote in congress, and give speeches. As long as they carry the state they are from and Trump trusts them, then that's good enough for me. Give the great people the important positions.
I'm going to disagree on your initial assertion based on the events from 72 hours ago.
Let me tell you how it goes. The VP either rolls over to the deep state or they kill them as well. It doesn't matter who the VP is. They are either killed or they comply. At this point in history, if we lose Trump, we lose everything. With these facts in mind. I think I will trust the man who is willing to take a bullet for this country and not even flinch.
I think the subject of protecting the VP is a bit more nuanced than what you're laying out, but where I do agree with you is your trust in DJT because I do as well.
I would be far more concerned if this were any other Presidential candidate selecting Vance as their running mate.
However, I trust no one blindly and I would like to better understand the Vance decision. Because on it's face, it's a head-scratcher.
I can understand that. I fully know Vance was a never-trumper RINO. I also know that he supposedly turned himself around and Trump endorsed him for office. I believe in redemption. None of us know this man personally. Given the lack of any proof that he isn't now a MAGA Republican. I will believe he's a good guy until proven otherwise. People can change. Trump himself has changed. I'm not going to throw him under the bus because of his history. Especially when Trump trusts him.
