we've been using the photo of the bullet as proof of the direction. but theoretically, if this guy specialized in covering up signs of photo manipulation, it could be very difficult for us to tell if the image had been tampered with.

i'm a bit out on a limb here. it could be nothing. but that could be one reason to hire the same guy for multiple events that all need very tight narrative control.

It's not that he was hired for multiple events. He has a staff position at the New York Times.

He's been a presidential photographer for 40 years. He has probably taken 100,000 plus photos of every president since Reagan.

Trump apparently loves the guy and has called him a genius.
