I've pulled a body out of a truck with shit impaled in the person's head (Vehicle's A pillar when cement truck barrel detached and flew into patient's truck) and I've shot hogs between the eyes to butcher, none of them had but a drop of blood come out.
As far as ballistics, I don't know what they use but I'd guess it's a smaller caliber in that circumstance. There isn't goin to be an explosion of brain matter out the back of the kid's head.

I believe the SS snipers there were using Remington 700’s chambered in 300 win mag.
