Hard to tell, but I think it came out his mouth, talking several teeth with it.

They should have all the bullets by now.

If it came out of his mouth that would indicate he was shot from behind. To me it appeared as though the bullet entered through his mouth/teeth and exited on the right corner of his jaw (right where it curves to meet the base of the skull).
