I’m glad I was able to convince my manager to choose Palo Alto over CrowdStrike. My main reason for not using CrowdStrike was the Russian/DNC bullshit but I didn’t tell him that.

It's not good.

  • 100k's to 1m's of computers affected
  • mainly used in corporate settings
  • blue screen of death reboot loop
  • each computer requires a tech or a user to remove a file, but to do that they have to get it into safe mode
  • locked down computers may need to have bios accessed to enable safe boot or external drive boot.
  • millions of hours of IT work.. 20 minutes per computer up to hours (if really locked down)
  • only saving grace would be PXE (other network boot).
