The perils of a cashless society were exposed yesterday as a technology blunder triggered 'the world's biggest IT meltdown'.

I had the opposite problem the other day.

Something came out to $13.07, and I gave the guy 23 dollars and a dime.

The guy would not take the dime and insisted on taking just the $20 bill and counting out $6.93 in change, rather than the $10 bill and three pennies I was hoping for.

Cash is king, of course, but I'll never understand some people.
