BTW - on this topic of attention-seeking... If you want to get under the skin of these freaks, don't even acknowledge their body mutilation if you're speaking with them.

Many years ago in Berkeley, CA I went into a bookstore looking for a particular book and the heavily-pierced freakshow working there was annoyed (presumably since I didn't comment whatsoever on his mutilations) as I had him repeat something I couldn't understand (due to his large tongue piercing) then smiled and thanked him for his help, went on my way. When I lived in CA it happened various times with various freaks and they hate it when you don't tell them they look "cool" or such. No validation for the chronically attention-challenged.
