A natural born citizen refers to someone who was a U.S. citizen at birth, and did not need to go through a naturalization proceeding later in life. Under the 14th Amendment's Naturalization Clause and the Supreme Court case of United States v. Wong Kim Ark, 169 US. 649, anyone born on U.S. soil and subject to its jurisdiction is a natural born citizen, regardless of parental citizenship. This type of citizenship is referred to as birthright citizenship. One can be a citizen while not being a natural born citizen if, for example, that person gained citizenship through the process of naturalization.
I can understand if you are trying to say the correct interpretation of the law is as you have stated. I am merely pointing out at the current legal standard and precedent. The SCOTUS have already ruled on it. So it would take a revision in the same fashion as in Roe vs Wade to change this fact. However, this ruling happened in 1898. It is stablished law.
There is no one alive today in the legal system who has ever viewed this argument as anything other that what was ruled back then.
Also, I actually have the constitution downloaded onto my phone so I can pull it up at a moments notice. Its a great app. I recommend it.
Go read the 14th amendment. You will be very surprised.
