Where you see the A/C and then a black rubber tube that is attached vertically to the building? There are a number of horizontal 'bars/steps' welded there (I think) going up the side of the building that a dexterous young guy could use to grab onto to ascend to the top.
Ok - great… I just wanted to make sure you saw the same thing I saw. I didn’t see a ladder per se, but those metal things on the side of the building look like they were welded recently. They look new. a young man could easily hop on top of that air-conditioning unit, and then climb up that side of the building with those handles.
If you see what looks like a black rubber hose on the wall, it's right there.
But I don't think it's a ladder. I think it slats for some reason. It doesn't look safe as an actual functioning everyday ladder.
I don't know anyway that would support me and my big feet.
The slaps look maybe to be an inch or two wide. Reminds me of a duplex I was looking at that had this death trap set of stairs to the lower level. The stairs turned 90° ended with triangle steps and my left foot would not fit on the stair at all when going up.
So it might be able to be used that way.
But I actually I think he got onto the lower roof to the side.
They say there's an air conditioner unit between those two buildings. It's not too tall. You can get on top of that to give them a lower roof then get on the higher roof.
They specifically mention the idea that he probably used the AC unit.
And that seems more direct. Safer, easier than climbing up these slats.

I missed it at first too.

I agree
