He is a literal actor, so he is more likely to have been paid to play a role, and be the "face" for something ran by somebody else, or a group of them. And now it is starting to look highly likely his previous bosses are going to be out of the picture, so his best chance is to get in touch with the person who will run things in the near future and negotiate a contract that might allow him to get out with the money, or at least most of the money, he has accumulated so far. I presume there will be more than a few similar cases, people who technically should end up in jail or executed but being underlings who just played as the official "face" for something without really initiating anything themselves who will be allowed to have a "get out of jail card" because they, officially, do have the power to also do something like negotiate a peace agreement and are now willing to do it, against the wishes of their handler.
But if he betrays his original bosses he will presumably have to keep looking over his shoulder for the rest of his life. Unless he actually has something he can also give to their enemies that will take them out.
Hm. If I'm guessing right what are the chances he will be assassinated, or there will at least be an attempt, in the near future, before Trump takes over? Of course the Russians will be blamed if that happens.
