I live in Rural cork, nothing but songbirds and tractors. We live down what’s known as a boreen, is just wider than a car.

There’s an amazing security to that, you can spot someone from the city by the look of terror on their face when they meet you on the road and you begin reversing at 39kph to the nearest overtaking spot you know.

When they do pass, you often get a happy look of respect.

I moved from Dublin 25 years ago, it’s a foreign invaded hell hole now.
