Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
I just made this a post, but then I decided it's better fit for the daily GC, it's not exactly news or anything and i'd rather not clog up the feed with something off track
but anyway I said:
TV is bullshit anyway. but, you know which one gets to me?
The Conners. Like, Rosanne was a good show. It showed real american values (AND real american struggles)... Growing up, there was alot of moments in that show that I related to and/or appreciated. It was your standard family that survived check to check and had their dysfunction but in the end they all loved eachother and were NORMAL PEOPLE
Then because Rosanne was unapologetically a Trump supporter, they decided to bring the show back with everyone BUT her. Now, their "normal issues and values" are woke shit like... Darlene has two kids: One of them is a flamboyant gay kid (Who I believe was supposed to be like...age 10.. when the show came out), and her other kid gets involved in some protest with blue haired people. They even made sure to take a jab no pun intended lol at people who didn't fall in line with the masks and vax shit.
Oh, and because they had to fill the quota: of course the dude who plays her son has a black kid.
idk its just sad because they really want to destroy and rewrite everything that used to be what American meant.
Haven’t watched one episode after Rosanne was excluded.
Yeah, when it came out I wouldn't touch it. Whenever I put on a series or whatever anymore its more for background noise while im doing other things like working on graphics, cleaning up around the house etc. So- I figured i'd finally bite the bullet and give it a shot. The wokeness agenda is about as subtle as a Train horn.
