Some might say he was "devinely" inspired to tamper with the original bible, others might say he was demonically inspired. Takes a lot of huburus to go against 1,500 years of established tradition & remove 7 books from the bible.

There's now 45,000 Protestant denominations that have been birthed from Luthers revolt. Not sure if Western civ is better off because of his rebellion.
