I feel like castration would cost more than a bullet or rope. Also, I'm not sure castration is going to solve this issue anyway. If they're doing it to feel a power trip, they can still feel the power trip even without their testes/ovaries.

Sledgehammers are cheap too, maybe not as cheap as a bullet, but the parent of the abused might have more fun with a sledgehammer.

Why would castration be expensive? Emasculators are from $50 to $350 dollars and can be sterilized and reused.

Castration really does solve unwanted breeding. Ask any rancher.
