Amen, Mary.
Our children are all grown and gone with kids of their own. Even the grandkids have reached that age where pop pop is no longer their favorite toy. The wife and I have had serious discussions that when this is all over, that we will add a child or two that needs love and attention to our family. Its a hard decision to start a new family at 60+ but we share the same urgency that it must be done. We will go into this with our eyes open, with the full understanding it may be very difficult to help these children into adulthood.
That sounds wonderful. I am 64 and I keep 5 of my grandchildren M-F and some weekends. My husband and I don't get much time together but he does pop in to visit some days as I am only 4 miles down the road. The youngest granddaughter age 3 loves it when Pappy comes by as he brings her french fries and a pink donut. And I miscounted my grandkids as the last one was a surprise late in life grandchild. I actually have 12 and not 13. Once they start coming, it's hard to keep count. Going to start Christmas shopping next Wednesday as where we shop, Wednesdays are Senior Discount days and we need to save all the money we can. God bless.
