I can’t tell who is part of TPTB and who isn’t right now in Bangladesh.
The PM, Sheikh Hasina, has fled to India. Here is her Wiki page.
Her daughter was serving as Bangladesh’s representative to the WHO. Sheikh Hasina doesn’t have a solid history when it comes to freedom and censorship, but now Muhammad Yunus is leading the country.
He is returning to Dhaka after a medical procedure in Paris to take his position. the protests have been deadly. I used to think Yunus was awesome for microfinance; now I trust no Nobel laureates.
Hasina has claimed Yunus and Hilldawg plotted against her and her government for the World Bank bridge funding. FWIW, all of the Bangladeshi officials were acquitted of any wrongdoing, but the World Bank funding was never given back, according to the Wiki article.
Hasina has survived 19 assassination attempts. Her niece is a British Labour MP. Her husband was part of the Bangladesh atomic energy commission.
What is going on here??
They sound as bad as each other. But maybe Yunus has a working thesis that works better for Banladesh. He is an old-school economist, observing famines in his country and designing a humane micro-finance system (tiny start-ups - e.g.,1000 dollar loans for mums to start a bread oven for their neighbors), and he is well respected.

I used to think this.
I don’t think he’s as clean as we’ve been led to believe.
Discussions regarding allegations against him
Wikileaks has the emails where Yunus “was still very concerned with Grameen bank” and emailing HRC about it because he was removed from it. Aka, Grameen was doing shady things, and Yunus was sounding the alarm that the shady things were being investigated and stopped, to me…Read the emails for yourself…
