Aussies need to get Starlink Internet ASAP.
The Aussie government can only regulate domestic computer servers and internet providers. An internet signal going straight to Starlink Satellite bypasses the Aussie government.
This isn't how it works. From GPT:
The idea that using Starlink or any other satellite internet service can completely bypass government regulation is not entirely accurate. While it's true that Starlink's signal goes directly to satellites and doesn't rely on traditional ground-based infrastructure, governments still have regulatory authority over the use of such services within their borders.
In Australia, for example, the government can impose regulations on satellite internet providers like Starlink, including licensing requirements, content regulations, and data privacy laws. Additionally, the government could require Starlink to comply with local laws, including data retention and access requirements.
So, while Starlink might offer more freedom from traditional ISPs and reduce some forms of government oversight, it does not completely bypass government regulation. Governments can still enforce laws on how these services are used within their jurisdiction.
Yeah only if you smuggle the US hardware it would bypass all that. But it'd be violating terms of service and also I guess Aussie laws
