Elon publicly stated that he despises his father and his father was cruel/abusive/neglectful towards Elon and was absent for a lot of his life and basically his mother raised him. Also Elon and his brother now have to financially support their failure of a father because he would be destitute, if not.

So, if his dad was involved in 'intel' stuff, Elon did not see that as favorable.
