Probably the wound could detail the bullet trajectory and confirm it came from the window and not the roof top, or even possibly different bullet fragments that should show there was a 2nd weapon.
Just guessing but at this point they're guilty and covering it up, their actions point to no other explanation. It's very deliberate, like driving around for hours with Scalia's body.
