I was a hardcore metalhead back in the 80s. Metallica, Megadeth, Suicidal Tendencies, Slayer, Anthrax, even Sepultura. But this was the one and only band that wasn't "thrash" that had my seal of approval. The album "Twice Shy" is a solid album all the way.
He really did have a great voice.
I preferred their first album, with the song "Stick It" being the anthem of my teenage years ("... in my Chevy, don't stop at no lights, crankin' the METAL!..."). I got into the heavier stuff that you listened to (and even much more extreme stuff, like grind and death metal), years later, and made fun of the "hair metal" stuff that, well, I like now kek. Jazz to grindcore, I love it all nowadays...
