If you die in battle against the foes of Islam, you become a martyr and are afforded a place in Jennah seated close to Allah and the Prophet Muhammad, with something like 70 pure women or houri to serve you and be your wives for eternity. Something like that. This life is a test to them. Basically you have a running scorecard going and good deeds have to outweigh the bad deeds unless Allah forgives your bad deeds and turns them into good deeds, like if you die in the process of mortaring the base, and you say "Lah Ilaha il'la allah!" right as you die, then all of a sudden you are a new muslim and all your sins are forgiven, like a newborn baby. Holy shit this sounds crazy but this is legit what they believe. It's a total mindfuck of a religion. If this is the cartels doing it, it's because somebody had their families threatened.
