Would it apply to Santos or Menedez or other elected officials?
There's a DOJ "policy" about actions before an election, but it's not law and doesn't apply to the states.
The DOJ "policy" is not even written down, it's an unwritten rule.
And it only applies to INVESTIGATIONS, not anything post indictment.
