(There were no allegations of wrongdoing or anything, just ridiculously frequent "checks" since we were a large family and some neighbors didn't like that. We had legal procedures printed out and ready by the door at all times. And had to use them to keep their "checks" in check.)
The Russian Federation is not the USSR, and I don't think I would have been interested in moving to the USSR. Russia today is really quite wonderful.
It's up to you to give your children a childhood. Here or in the USSR. Never give up the ship.
