There is no reason it cant be all of them. The parasites would reinforce the environmental response. Both could happen in conjunction with molestation. It's why homosexuality is such a hard thing for people to leave.

Parasites would add weight to homosexuality being such a hard thing for people to break from. Even if they can undo the trauma of being molested as a child and work through the population pressure thing they STILL have a parasite that is producing chemicals to encourage its spread through anal sex.
