Maybe they might consider repentance rather than lying?
I said the same thing too just now lol. It seems like this guy is against personal accountability.
You do not know me at all. I have been dealing with this stuff for a quarter century, most of that voluntarily celibate as I pleaded with God for help, a miracle, something. 20 years of trying to pray the Gay away, and walking the line to the best of my ability. I fully and comprehensively explored the path that you are advocating.
I got the help, when I was ready for it, but it took the form of realizing that I'm accountable only to God and that He doesn't care that I'm gay; it's merely part of the experience I was ordained to receive in this life. He cares that I am grateful to Him and kind to my fellowman, and that's about it.
I suggest boning up on those parts of the Bible that talk about unrighteous judgements.
We don't need to know anything else. But what you say in favor of this is very telling. I think someone's triggered lol.
I don't understand the lack of reading comprehension. Did I not explicitly state that I'm not defending bad behavior? I am accountable to God. I am not accountable to you.
Having spent 20 years of my life attempting to "repent," I can assure you that's not how it works. The attempt did help me build a relationship with God, though, until such time as it sunk in that He accepts me based on my heart, not based on the arbitrary standards of man.
But thanks for the advice.
Edit: BTW, you're going to want to say that it's not the standards of man, it's the standards of God, because the Bible says so. I advise against that, I know more about it than you do. Unless you really want to be educated as to how exactly the Bible, when understood without the lens of tradition or dogma, says nothing in condemnation of homosexuality. I've had that argument so many times I can copypasta it.
Umm Leviticus 20:13?
Ah, the Law of Moses! I assume you obey it? Better put down the shellfish, and don't forget to plan around the prescribed monthly purification when you or your wife has her period. Once of you is gonna have to watch the kids.
You don't get to pick and choose. Either the entire Law of Moses applies or none of it does. Christian doctrine is that the Law of Moses was done away in Christ. Who, by the way, is not recorded as saying a single syllable on the topic. Seems like a pretty big oversight since He supposedly cares about it so much.
Mark 7 19 and Matthew 5 17
And it still doesnt build anything ya know be fruitful and multiply?
