Networking in the past 10 years has become very simple. Transport has 3 major types now and they are all considered physical. Fiber, cellular, satellite. A lesser type for the super sophisticated would be something like converting radio back and forth to a ethernet, in which is what WiFi and Bluetooth is.
If one takes a fiber or ethernet cable and runs it to their neighbors home and connects a ethernet switch they can share a public internet. The public internet is just that.
In the USA neighbors are suppose to not talk to each other any longer but if a group of neighbors got together and ran fiber in between their homes they could all pay for one public internet connection and designate one home for the connection….
The satellites bypass this need in a sense but still if one person converted the satellite and ran cables to their neighbors they could all share that one satellite link for two ways internet comms.
It is not magic. So many people do not understand the simple network and in reality all a telecom is, is that a way for a physical connection that talks to the public.
Much money has been invested by foreign governments to be able to know what comms go and to their people under the disguise of safety. When in reality we as individuals should be responsible for our own safety.
The government has ways to mirror every packet and has ways to dissect up what everyone does thru a vpn or not thru a vpn. There is security within each packet but all the MTU is most current ip networks is 1500. The rest of each packet gets blocked for the user but not for the telecom. Essentially they can tag each packet with the users full address and much more with current technology without anyone knowing about it.
Essentially if you use a vpn it is still within the 1500 mtu which is around one eighth the size the packet could be. So every packet that is sent from and to your home could be having additional information added and only those that are deemed necessary like law enforcement and such can see that information.
Since the majority of citizens in all countries including the USA and definitely the USA this is unknown and therefore a public record request would never be considered. Plus the verbiage used would be very difficult to get.
The most sophisticated person may not know about the MTU. A like thing they will know like vlan tag could make the telecom add a little to the mtu for that tag but it will still only allow the user to be at 1500. This is how they will make each user pay for stuff in the future both users and providers if they win.
