Turkey was supposed to be a NATO member, and therefore kinda trusted. So what's the problem? America is not at war with Turkey, I thought.

Fund-raising for politial campaigns is fraught with international funds, including from Israel via AIPAC. Such enormous political contributions are not news in America, so there is something else afoot.

Turkey has applied for BRICS membership after EU has been stalling them out for decades. So it appears the globalists are going for BRICS hopefuls too now. Oh, and Turkey has recently made clear that they do not like the genocide in Gaza (They are the main energy supply for Israel) - Hmmmmm.
