Frankly I doubt it was even for people who just wanted their freedoms left alone.

It was just people who wanted to be left alone period. They didn’t want any part of making history or upsetting the Applecart. They didn’t care for the maneuvering of Washington Elites. Nor did they care for grandiose philosophical arguments about the nature of Freedom and Rights, Government or the merits of any particular political ideology.

They wanted to raise their families. Go to their boring schools. Work their boring jobs. Staying on the straight and narrow. Not voicing any opinion particularly controversial. And enjoy a scant decade or two of retirement if they were lucky before they died. Essentially the quintessential Normie. While their kids took over from where they left off. Living an uninspired existence of quiet stability.

The more naturally industrious may have viewed such an existence as dismal, depressing and boring. But for the average Normal person or ‘Normie’ as it were. They were content.

History isn’t often made by Great Men, Great Thinkers, or political activists alone. It’s made by Great Men at the head of a host of the people who just wanted to be left alone.
