Most religions are built on FAITH, although I don't know if every religion is. Mainly because you need FAITH to believe in something you can not see, can not hear (although some might dispute me on that) and can not touch. But belief and FAITH in a God or one God is what people might need to get them through life. I don't have a problem believing in God, some things are just so beautiful they had to be a creation of a Supreme being (at least that is my thought). And that is the way America was founded, the founding father's had a lot of trust in God-but they, other than saying this is a Judeo/Christian nation, did not want to restrict any belief. There is no separation of church and state written anywhere, just that the state should not support, or promote, any one religion over the other(s). So you keep doing what you are doing and I won't try to change you. But also in respect to me, don't (and you haven't) try to change me. We can and will live together as we have been all this time.
The Establishment Clause of the 1st Amendment, which is basically what you've stated in your post, is where the concept of the separation of church and state exists.
The exact phrase "separation of church and state" doesn't have to be expressed in order for the intent to exist.
Agree to disagree.
Sounds good.
