Thanks! I did a little surface surfing and learned FMDs are either MDs or DOs with traditional medical school training but who first try to improve things like diet, exercise, sleep, and stress reduction instead of immediately stampeding to surgery and Big Harma drug$, as do most of their colleagues.
In a similar holistic health vein are doctors of chiropractic (DC) and naturopathic doctors (ND), each with their own philosophy of helping people physically without jabbing them, slicing them open, or poisoning them.
Humans have been $y$tematically programmed by the medical profession to seek the most radical, least conservative type of care first for whatever ails them, instead of the most conservative. Got an ill - pop a pill!!
Yep. Most FMD's are MD's who walked away from the western medical industry because they were smart enough to see it's not helping patients. They got additional training in holistic health and most of them only seek to address the root cause now, and never prescribe anything. They usually will test you first to make sure you've fully quit the western model as well to make sure as a patient you are a good fit for them. It doesn't work unless you both believe in the same philosophy of health. It's also not covered by insurance so totally different business model as well, you have to pay cash.
