I had to requalify my Marksman ribbon while stationed in Wiesbaden Germany in the Air Farce in 1968! I had to do it with the M-14 and remember they had a Wood stock, unlike the M-16 Mattel rifle! Big difference in weight!
More recoil too, but I loved that rifle. I have the civilian version from Springfield, called the M1A1. I take it out about every 2 or 3 months to re-bruise my shoulder.
