Maybe he was there for scouting and lookout... and he wasn't the real shooter (who was professional). That sets him up as a lone-patsy.
He wasn't dressed for the part. How did he get such a gun so quick? He is a felon. He is from Hawaii. He is broke.
So maybe Garland is right on this one and he was NOT the shooter.
It's easy to get a gun in the South off the books. Just go to any large flea market (called Trade Day down here) that allows firearms sales.
And pay twice what they are worth....
I got a 300 Win Mag with a scope for $350 bucks 6 years ago, not bad.
