Insurance is a scam. I can honestly say, I cost car insurance more money than I ever paid them though... Keck. I had Insurance on my house until I paid it off, then did without until I sold it. The house was worth 60K fixed up, and the Insurance wanted 1,500, but also had lots of limits and out-of-pocket costs for major repairs. I was my own handyman so I took the chance... After that I owned Condos and the HOA was responsible for the physical structure, no insurance was required.
You can still insure the Bullion, but I'm not sure of details.
I'm not sure how auto and home insurance is a scam. 1 bad claim and you are fkd without coverage. $1,500 a year to cover a $500k-$900k home doesn't seem bad. Auto insurance is a whole other ballgame and I'm shocked that rates are still as low as they are considering the crazy country we live in.
My home was worth 60K and I was paying 1,500 when I paid it off in 2002 and did without the next 2 years until I sold.
Car insurance tries very hard to get you to use their repair shops and they don't fix your cars very well. They use parts from cars that are totaled to fix cars that aren't. There are chop shops that provide stolen car parts to these repair shops, they use after-market substandard parts. They lowball you on settlements.
I don't disagree with what you are saying. By law you are allowed to take your vehicle to any shop you choose.
In regards to damage, a cracked bumper would cost $300 to fix 10 years ago and now that same bumper costs $3k because it has 4 different pieces and cameras etc..
Not to mention Larry H Parker billboards on every freeway in CA telling people to call him if they are in an accident. The whole country is falling apart because of corruption and greed.
Yeah, How Come you get can a great Camera in a cell phone that costs 10 bucks these days, but those car cams...? In Sarasota, They Have or Had, A museum called Bellum's Cars and Music of Yesterday. Player Pianos, records that were spindles of wax, a collection of cars on display. cars with wagon wheels and a stick for steering, to Tuckers. Anyway I have been there 4 or 5 times, but once many years ago our tour guide. Part of his lecture he told us that Cars today aren't that special, A/C was in the 30's for rich people, and cars can last forever, look at Cuba, but modern cars have electronics that gives out and is expensive to replace. He said Motors and Transmissions are better than ever though, but the cars are made for you to itch for the newest electronics and to replace the car because the old ones gadgets no longer work.
