This is a date fag I can get behind. Pun intended.

I hate "country" music today...the cult-like following of some of these newer "artists" like Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, et al. I don't listen to "country" music much beyond the 80s or 90s, pretty much the same guardrails I put on listening to pop music anymore.
You gotta find stuff that isn’t on the radio like Colter Wall and Sturgil Simpson.
Buck Owens, Glen Campbell, Loretta Lynn, Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, Patsy Cline, Willie, Waylon - it's getting harder and harder to find these legends on the radio anymore. Luckily, they can be streamed pretty easily, and there's tons of their old vinyl at flea markets and antique stores.
If you like Waylon and Merle look up Colter Wall on whatever your streaming service is.
Turnpike Troubadours is another good band that you’d probably like. Brent Cobb, The Steeldrivers (Chris Stapleton’s original band), Red Clay Strays. All are good options if you want to listen to newer country that has old school vibes and no hick hop crap.
If I think of more I’ll let you know.
My daughter's boyfriend had me check out Sturgill Simpson - sounded pretty good.
I just really think it's a shame what the corporate types have done to country music.
