I suspect they have a lot of witches literally practicing witchcraft on their side. The “spells” they “weave” and “cast” put people into “hypnosis”, “to sleep”. It’s basically brain hacking through corruption of language.

Look up the etymologies of those words. “Witch” comes from “Wicca”, which like “wicker” means “to weave”.
