The movie called “Highwaymen” starring Kevin Costner portrayed Hamer.
I haven’t seen anything about him being shot or killed by a gun. I do know he was shot several times when he was like 14 or so. After he healed up he returned later and killed that guy that did.
But I wouldn’t be surprised about the “heart attack” stuff. It’s the same thing we see today.
